yes
everything is black and white
if you look at it close enough

things are starting to look better these days even though the world seems to be more fucked than i can remember   (ie, george w president!!?)   again!!??

"the television has been revolutionized"

we have been blessed/cursed with the internet now.
so communication/maniplutation is that much more in the hands of the population (at least here in north america), instead of a few advertising agencies. it`s interesting to see how the programming has gone from "violence to sex" (feel bad to feel good) and the amount of sites there are about sharing information, ideas and music; that have no advertising (so no monetary value to those who house them). kind of makes you wonder what we`re up to
yes

saw "bowling for combine" last night

so you got to wonder
will georgie the general pull it off ?
will he go down in history as the man who saved the world from the "beast of baghdad" while nobody had faith, he took charge and solved all the problems of the world , or will he be remembered as the president who didn`t really exist at all. a mistake, an embarrassment to american democracy. where on election day the cry "remember florida" will ring throughout the land and everyone will vote

i guess it`s just a matter of time now, corporate america will let us know

valtaire`s bastards - john ralston saul
yes

if the collective wealth of the 3 richest people on the planet is equal to that of the poorest 3,000,000,000.

something is definitely wrong, folks

if you vote with your money (and in a world where corporations are more
powerful than governments, you do vote with your money)

there is no democracy
yes, it`s time to evolve, find a new currancy
one that`s value is not relative to it`s distribution
(a million dollars ain`t worth that much if everybody has one)
and these days, big money does not repreasent hard work
big money is not earned, it`s made

"yes, is the answer" - dead rock star

honesty is the prerequite of trust
trust is the foundation of love
and love is the currancy that takes us beyond anything money can offer (equality)

i know, the cynics are beginning to gather small piles of stones
but i haven`t heard an arguement yet that can conconvince me otherwise

"i`m not saying the battle is won
but on saturday night all those kids in the sun
wrested technology`s sword from the hands of the war lords" - live rock star

yes
it`s time to take that $75 billion for the first month of the war and use it to set up the beginnings of an alternative power infrastructure, the ideas are all there they just have to be allowed to work. just like the rechargeable battery some big company buys it up and sits on the patent, why would you make something that doesn`t fall apart, the demand for your product would soon evaperate and your market share would not exsist.  maybe next month`s rent of the oil fields could go to health care and education, i bet there are 75 major urban centers in the USA that could do something very construtive with $1000000000. maybe even spend less money on policing all the "evildoers" and not having to spend all this $$$$$ on defense, cause NOBODY CAN JUSTIFY aggression toward you, if your not an asshole

then again , if this happens, people might wake up to possiblities and the power junkies would have to curb their additions, (something they might have a really hard time with).

cause there ain`t nothing like power over others *

we have the technology now
the powers that be are beginning not to be
it is evident in the music and film industries
why do you think there is this tax on cdr`s ?
a last desperate cash grab maybe ?

will the news papers be next ?
with all these opinions available
will the ministry of information dissolve ?

* if  you feel general self loathing and inadequacy

well the day has finally arrived,  go ahead light up.
we can all smoke pot and not worry about being arrested (just a small fine)
the government says it`s ok everyone, really
just don`t sell it.
stiffer penalties for the farmers
relaxing the penalties for the users
divide and conquer
prices go down; risk factor goes up
less people will want to grow, (except of course thoughs who have the income to pay the nessesary bribes) to local law enforcement agencies
then there will of course be a time when the taxable product will be available for all to consume.

i have to say, lately when i see the news
and what`s happening on this planet. i don`t know
i kind of chuckle and shake my head it`s sad but kind of funny at the same time
the retoric; the hipocracy that comes out of the mouths of our "leaders"??

yes - the positive thinking

i think the internet should be looked at as a stepping stone to the inevadble anarchy that is nature. it is obvious to me that the population is begining to realize the potential of what it is and how people can network and get results. the peace movement before the war/invation of iraq is evident of that it obviously didn`t stop the invation/war but it did make people realize the potential to organize and it also showed us how many people would take time out of there day to be counted for what they believe.

??/??/??

well it`s been a while

I was thinking
i just finished a new recording and i want to make up the cd`s
so i was figuring out how much it costs me to make each "unit" if  i make them by burning them myself (i can easilly do 50 a day (in less than 2 hours) and just how much i should charge.  like most small labels, i don`t have alot of "capital" to invest in product that sits around.

CD-R $ 0.45
JEWEL CASE $ 0.25
PAPER $ 0.085
INK $ 0.14
PAINT $ 0.06
CD-R LEVY $ 0.21
TOTAL $ 1.195

17.57% of my product cost goes to the recording industry levy
set up to help artist get compensated

i could pay $60 a year to apply to not pay the levy
if my application is accepted (and i think it would be)
i would have to sell 286 cds a year to break even
but then again i could only buy my cdr`s at certain outlets

guess what
they charge 0.65 a cdr

I stand corrected

I have been informed that if I purchase 300 cdr`s
price range 0.39 - 0.85
(but the cheap ones tend not to work that well, so i`ve been told)
I will get a $60 rebate, for my levy application

1) if i can make a cd for under a $1.20 (being a very small record company)
the cost of a cd for the majors labels must be pennies (taking into account, they make millions of copies). supply; demand; there seems to me a pretty big mark up. i wonder if there might be price fixing, cause if there was a "free market"* major label would not be able to charge what they do, yes!

* the only free market is the "Black Market" and this is not even a free market
when you bring into account that pricing is affected because of the illegality of a product

2) if the industry figures it should be compensated for people stealing their product, should not the indusrty compensate whom ever owns the rights to the numerical system as they use alot of ones and zeros in their products. this must most certianly be the intellectual property of someone`s ancestors.

but then again, the bigger question
who owns the rights to the alphabet?

02/06/04

go see "the corporation"
